Actually all of those mods minus chicken hack of course would be "okay" in Single Player as you said they don't do anything the player doesn't already do. See there are a lot of downsides to using these mods x_x Well most everyone, some might still trade with you. Just remember if you download these be prepared for what you will have to deal with, which will be mostly no one will accept your items (If you use anything other than the red r00n mod, some still won't with that mod.) and you will not be able to trade with anyone. *edit* couldn't find the red r00n mod by itself, wait until nightfish or someone comes around to give you a link to it.Ĭourtisy of nightfish's post which was courtisy of somebody's sig ha =D for accepting mods personally its use your common sense when dealing with them. I will not trade or accept items from those people since they are completely altering the game mechanics. I have no problem with a mod like that, however once you get into those that you mentioned (the pick up mods, bots, chickenhack etc etc etc) that are so very popular on bnet it ruffles my feathers. Personally I have no problem with the red r00n mod (I don't use it personally but I don't have problems with people who do) All it does is change a graphic, oh well you might of spent 10 more seconds looking through the pile for r00ns. However, I doubt that anyone here would condone the use of a program that picked up items, yet the red rune mod seems to be generally accepted.įor those of you that use it, just something to think about. That probably sounds much worse than a mod that makes runes red, but realistically, what's the difference (assuming single player play - multi-player play is obviously a completely different story)? All these mods do is make your life more convenient, by doing something you would do faster, be it identifying runes in a pile or picking up piles of gold or items. It also had some feature that teleported sorceresses to items worth picking up, and picked them up. I remember when I played on, there were plenty of people who had programs that picked up items for them - they would run through a pile of corpses in the cow level, and they would have all the gold on their character. Personally, I think that even a mod as innocuous as this is just the key to a pandora's box of problems with mods.
